The Plymouth Ensemble at Beverly Arts Center

The Plymouth Ensemble presents a program framed with works by Mozart and Brahms.

The Plymouth Ensemble presents a program framed with works by Mozart and Brahms. The towering Piano Quartet No. 3 in C Minor is a product of the most stressful period of Brahms’ life — namely, his ill-fated love affair with Clara Schumann. Brahms’ frustration at the impossibility of their love tempered the mood of this quartet, echoing his emotional turmoil through music. Mozart’s genial Piano Quartet No. 2 in E-flat Major is the second of his two piano quartets that virtually invented the genre. This event is free. Tickets are required and reservations open on February 9.
