Face Lift by Dwight White was painted live during Chicago Loop Alliance’s ACTIVATE: Premiere event in June 2019.
It was curated by Missy Perkins and Roe Melloe and commissioned by the Chicago Loop Alliance Foundation. The building-sized spray paint face was completed in only three days, though White said he could spend forever perfecting it. According to White, the face is designed to inspire viewers from the ground and from the hotel across the alley. From both perspectives, one has a clear point of view of the mural, its colors, and one of the most inspiring things we can see almost daily: the sky. Dwight White is a Chicago-based artist who specializes in communicating stories and cultural experiences through creative portraiture.
