A 5-week prenatal yoga immersion to support you through pregnancy + beyond!
Stephanie Bour, our prenatal and postnatal yoga specialist + birth coach designed this program to accompany you during 5 weeks of your pregnancy journey with your physical, emotional and energetical evolving needs in mind. Scientific evidence highlights the benefits of prenatal yoga on both expecting parents and their babies, specifically positive impacts on stress and anxiety, sleep, back pain, headaches, shortness of breath, mode of birth and duration of labor. The way Stephanie facilitates her classes is a creative combination of physical movements - guided or intuitive - breathing techniques, meditation, visualization and mudra (symbolic hand gestures) drawing from her experiences working with families as a psychologically sensitive yoga instructor and doula and as a mother herself. This customized practice not only provides a whole body workout experience, but helps to enhance mind/body connection, confidence and intuition. Prenatal yoga is an excellent labor preparation, building your physical and mental endurance, giving you the skills to deeply relax and helping you reduce your fears and apprehensions. That’s why the last session of this program focuses on understanding physiologic labor and birth and how to use yogic tools to ease the journey. Throughout the sessions, you will also learn embodied skills that will be useful through your postpartum healing. Each week of this program dives into a different theme with a short educational lecture followed by a complete yoga practice ending with deep guided relaxation. We will allow time at the beginning and at the end to share and connect as a community of pregnant individuals in a friendly and compassionate atmosphere. Session 5 will be lead by Hannah Lee, RYT & LSW, and will dive into pre & postnatal mental health - what perinatal mental health is, strategies to care for yourself as a parent, and resource sharing in validating and supporting space.
