The Chicago Zoological Society is a private nonprofit organization that operates the Brookfield Zoo on land owned by the Forest Preserves of Cook County. The Society is known throughout the world for Brookfield Zoo's innovative, naturalistic, multi-species exhibits and for its international role in animal population management and wildlife conservation.

The Brookfield Zoo, set within a 216-acre nature park, is home to more than 2,000 animals and is also an accredited arboretum. It is open every day and welcomes more than two million guests annually.
