1 MIN READ – A Chicago-based tech company specializing in digital educational materials for nearly half of the U.S.’s colleges and universities, recently signed a multi-year lease for a Loop office space.
Reporter Danny Ecker details the importance of Chicago companies making strategic investments in Loop spaces in the following excerpt from Crain's Chicago Business:
“Digital textbook platform RedShelf recently inked a deal for about 20,000 square feet at 175 W. Jackson Blvd. for its new main office, which it has relocated from a slightly smaller space at 500 N. Dearborn St. in River North, the company confirmed. RedShelf subleased the new space from employee health software company WellRight.
The move bucks the trend of companies scaling down their workspace as they embrace the remote work movement that was supercharged by the COVID-19 pandemic. RedShelf, whose technology and partnerships with publishers allow students to access course materials online, is also showing its confidence in a central Loop location that has seen many big office users decamp for newer and more-updated buildings in the West Loop and elsewhere downtown.”
RedShelf CEO highlighted the importance of physical collaboration as a need for employees to utilize a hybrid schedule, fostering collaboration as the company sees accelerated growth.
