The UN International Day of Peace provides a globally shared date for all humanity to commit to Peace above all differences and to contribute to building a Culture of Peace.

HI USA hostels bring people together and foster a global community of travelers that promote a more tolerant and peaceful world. Across the nation, HI USA is celebrating Sleep for Peace.

Join HI Chicago for International Peace Open House. They will have a variety of activities to spark discussion around peace.

The Human Library® - Create Peace by Unjudging Someone

The Human Library® creates a safe space for dialog where topics are discussed openly between our human books and their readers. Every human book from our bookshelf, represent a group in our society that is often subjected to prejudice, stigmatization or discrimination because of their lifestyle, diagnosis, belief, disability, social status, ethnic origin etc.

Live Performance- Experience Peace through Music

Veteran Chicago Singer-Songwriter and Award-Winning Author, Phil Circle, will speak about Music and Peace and the many ways they intersect and support each other. Phil and other musical artists will showcase what peace means to them through live performances.

HI Chicago - Sleep for Peace

Tour the Hostel and learn more about their international initiatives. Everyone who takes a tour will get a free raffle ticket.

Food and Drinks will be served.
