Edgar Allan Poe Tours

Beginning October 21 and lasting through Halloween, celebrate spooky season with Edgar Allan Poe-themed tours at the American Writers Museum!

Our knowledgeable and fun Storytellers will take you through our exhibits on a journey full of fright, mystery, and suspense. Offered twice daily at 1:30 pm and 4:00 pm, October 21 – October 31.

From talking ravens to thumping tell-tale hearts, you’ll dive into Poe’s work and see how his legacy continues to impact the world today. Learn about those who influenced Poe, like Washington Irving, and those who Poe influenced, like H.P. Lovecraft, and see how American writing flows from one generation to the next. Take a moment at the end of the tour to write your own terrifying tale or petrifying POEm on one of our typewriters, and we might feature it on our blog.

When you arrive, let AWM staff know you are here for the Poe Tour. Tours are twice daily, at 1:30 pm and 4:00 pm, October 21-October 31. Tours are included with museum admission and typically last around 20 minutes.
