Chicago Human Rhythm Project

Step into rhythm!! The Chicago Human Rhythm Project presents rhythm-culture in performances and education programs that foster great art, social reconciliation and economic justice.

The Chicago Human Rhythm Project fosters social reconciliation through authentic and innovative performances, education programs and community building activities that look and sound like the people of Chicago. CHRP presents world class performances throughout Chicago year-round, featuring Chicago’s finest percussive dance/rhythmic arts companies. Rhythmic expression is a universal language through which they promote tolerance, peace and human creativity. CHRP teaches rhythmic expression to children, teens, adults and elders in elementary schools, high schools, community centers and in their own space – the Mayfair Arts Center. They celebrate Cultural Pluralism as a foundation of American culture. Whether their programs are at the Harris Theater, the DuSable Black History Museum and Education Center, Thomas Hoyne Elementary School, the Pritzker Pavilion, the Irish American Heritage Center or the Kennedy Center – ALL of their programs are designed to bring people together to embrace their differences, celebrate commonalities, and to foster long term relationships that are the key to future peace. They believe that through creativity, education, economic justice, hard work and diligence, a better Chicago can be built for all; one step at a time, one beat at a time, one life at a time.
