Chicago author and historian Dominic A. Pacyga leads this presentation on his 2019 book “American Warsaw: The Rise, Fall, and Rebirth of Polish Chicago,” which explores the impact made on the city’s culture and politics by members of its Polish community—famously the largest on Earth outside of Poland. Pacyga documents more than a century of immigration and emigration and chronicles how Polish people, families and traditions have defined and redefined what it means to be Polish in Chicago.
