Every holiday season, My Block • My Hood • My City brings together Chicagoans from all corners of the city to illuminate Martin Luther King Jr. Drive.
It’s their goal to decorate the homes of residents in Chatham, Auburn Gresham, Greater Grand Crossing, and more as a way of interrupting the everyday trauma experienced by the residents of these communities and inspiring hope for its youth.
Volunteer opportunities kick off December 7 and culminate on the 15 with a community-wide Winter Wonderland carnival and tree lighting.
