Ballet Chicago's The Nutcracker

With its inspiring story, exquisite music, and masterful choreography, Ballet Chicago's The Nutcracker captures the spirit of the holiday season.

As the city’s only annual traditional style Nutcracker, Ballet Chicago’s production follows young Marie on her Christmas Eve journey to the shimmering Kingdom of Snow and the enchanting Land of Sweets, highlighted by George Balanchine’s iconic Sugar Plum Fairy Pas de Deux. This timeless ballet honors cherished traditions while creating new memories for generations to come. Additionally this year, Ballet Chicago is proud to present its first Sensory Friendly Nutcracker on Sunday, December 21, at 5:00 p.m.
