A Conversation on Writing with Roberta Rubin & Dr. Michael Lewis

Legendary local bookseller Roberta Rubin talks writing and the book business with her guest, Michael Lewis M.D., an orthopedic surgeon and author.

Roberta Rubin is a founding board member of the American Writers Museum and was an independent bookseller for nearly 40 years, with much of that time as owner of The Book Stall in Glencoe, Illinois. Through her long connection and love of books, Roberta has worked with and promoted writers from across the country. She has also worked with and within multiple cultural and civic organizations, from the American Booksellers Association to the Ragdale Artists Community.
Dr. Michael Lewis is an orthopedic surgeon and a former consultant to the Chicago Bulls and the Chicago White Sox. He is also an author who has published six books including One World: A View of Seven Continents and Seeing More Colors: A Guide to a Richer Life. His most recent book, The Ball’s in Your Court, explores his time working with some of the best athletes in the world and what he learned from them, and other teachers in his life, about living his best possible life.
