The Loop's Newest Nap Space

Posted  10 years ago  in  Loop Locals, Loop List  by  Brittany Tepper

Channel your inner preschooler, because the Loop is about to get its nap on. Bottom Line Yoga transforms into a nap space from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. daily. Yes, you read that right. A nap space. The Loop yoga studio, on the seventh floor of the Chicago Board of Trade Building, rolls out plush mats, pillows, and blankets for an afternoon siesta.

From ear plugs to eye pillows, they have thought of everything you need to make that midday nap count. Having trouble sleeping? There is an app for that, download their guided mediation app. Worried about sleeping through the entire work day? Should you need help waking up, you can request a wake-up call. The studio promises that it isn't a gong.

A NASA study showed a nap of just 26 minutes can boost productivity by as much as 34 percent and increase alertness by 54 percent.

The space also transitions into a “mindful space” from 8:30 a.m. to 9:45 a.m., similar to the nap space, you can grab a mat and move around, meditate, or take a morning nap, we won’t judge.

Yoga is of course at the studio’s core. In addition to napping, the studio has an impressive list of yoga classes throughout the day. With a nap and their “Restorative Yoga to Reduce Stress,” you probably will forget about your stressful work week all together.
