Envision Unlimited

For over 50 years the caring community of Envision Unlimited has served people with disabilities across all ages, abilities and backgrounds.

Envision is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit social service organization that supports persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities of all ages and abilities. We support 1,200 individuals and families throughout Chicago. All donations to Envision are tax-deductible to the fullest extent allowable by tax law. Envision formed in 1964 from the merger of three grassroots organizations. These three groups were responsible for establishing Chicago?s first special education program (1950) and Chicago?s first vocational training program for adults with developmental disabilities (1961). Envision Unlimited provides high-quality programs and services to persons with disabilities, promoting choice, independence, and community integration for all. Envision supports one of Chicago's most vulnerable populations: in addition to having a primary diagnosis of an intellectual or developmental disability, 92% of our clients come from or live in homes at or below the Federal Poverty Level, and approximately 50% have mild to severe physical disabilities as well. 84% of our constituency are of minority ethnicities.
