Kalapriya is Dance, Music, Theater & Literature of South Asia. Thoughtful, Educational and fun for all Chicagoans of all ages. They welcome Seniors and Children.

The Kalapriya Foundation Center for Indian Performing Arts a not-for-profit organization located in the South Loop at 2101 S. Wabash Ave. Suite B, is at the hub of Chinatown, Bronzeville, Pilsen and the southside. Presenting India's artistic diversity through the performing arts and building bridges between the performing arts and our contemporary lives.

Chicago has the second largest concentration of South Asian immigrants in the country. Kalapriya showcasse the variety that exists culturally & artistically within this population. Serving all Chicagoans, the Kalapriya Center strives to make authentic & important contributions to Chicago's rich cultural milieu. Its programming is educational, inspirational, and focused on creating community. Kalapriya's work centers on building connections and sharing traditions, with particular attention to the needs of Chicago's most underserved people. Kalapriya has taken many of its programs such as AHIMSA (non-violence) to the city's south, west sides & northside. Kalapriya offers classical & popular dance and music performance, classes, and community festivals & fairs. Its major productions address current issues on the global challenges of migration, intolerance, violence, hate crimes, gender discrimination and climate change.

Programs are also held at Chicago's schools, Parks and other performance venues. It is partnered with Women's Parks and Gardens Park, Columbia College and University of Chicago. Kalapriya can also provide special programs for private institutions for their meetings and special events.
