How We Work

Focused initiatives that move the Loop forward.

Through five core program areas, Chicago Loop Alliance strengthens the downtown experience. Each plays a vital role in maintaining, improving, and energizing the Loop’s public spaces and economic landscape.

Beautification, Enhanced Services + Safety

Chicago Loop Alliance provides constant and continued improvements to the cleanliness, beautification, safety and maintenance of the Loop’s streets, sidewalks and common areas.

Safe + Clean Ambassador teams

The Street Team Ambassadors monitor State Street and strengthened relationships with local merchants, visitors and connect individuals in need to social service providers. The Clean Team Ambassadors improve the cleanliness and image of State Street by removing litter and graffiti, emptying garbage cans, and shoveling snow.

Landscaping, Infrastructure Maintenance + Beautification

Through SSA1-2015 funding, both sides of State Street from Wacker Drive to Congress Parkway received consistent care, including weekly power washing, annual sidewalk repair and sealing, and ongoing maintenance.
