The Shape of Joy | Mixed Repertoire

The School of Ballet 5:8 presents The Shape of Joy, an inspiring evening of dance celebrating the artistry, imagination, and dedication of the next generation of ballet artists.

The program features a delightful new ballet inspired by Peter Rabbit, performed by students of the Preparatory Program, alongside a heartfelt adaptation of Little Women performed by the Pre-Professional Program—bringing Louisa May Alcott’s beloved characters to life through expressive choreography.

The evening also highlights the Studio Company in a powerful selection of Ballet 5:8 repertoire, including The Caged Bird Sings, Gospel Impressions, Interplay, and Shades of Refrain—works that reflect the company’s signature blend of classical technique, musicality, and storytelling.

From whimsical beginnings to stirring contemporary ballet, The Shape of Joy invites audiences to experience the growth, discipline, and creative spirit that shape young dancers into artists.
