DESCRIPTION:Questioning form and expectations\, White Space is a new eve
 ning-length work by groundbreaking choreographer Kyle Abraham\, which tr
 ansports the audience to a restless and thought-provoking world fueled b
 y Abraham’s signature blend of classical and contemporary dance with a
  hip-hop underbelly. The twelve captivating dancers jostle between theat
 rical and somatic ideals of confrontation and conversation.\n\nAcclaimed
  composers Jason Moran and Nico Muhly collaborate for a haunting origina
 l score that pierces the heart of Abraham’s newest dance. The score is
  performed by two pianists on one piano\, with echoes of pre-recorded hi
 p-hop driving the collision of reality and idealism. Jason Moran will ac
 company the performance live\, joined by another brilliant pianist.\n\nW
 hite Space marks the second time that Abraham is collaborating with worl
 d-renowned visual artist Glenn Ligon on scenic design. Other collaborato
 rs include noted costume designers Reid Bartelme and Harriet Jung\, and 
 longtime lighting collaborator Dan Scully.
