American Writers Museum

The American Writers Museum is the first museum in the nation devoted to American writers and their works.

Through innovative and dynamic state-of-the-art exhibitions, as well as compelling programming, the American Writers Museum educates, enriches, provokes and inspires visitors of all ages.

Some of the museum’s interactive exhibits include a ''Word Waterfall'' that combines the dynamic animation of words from featured works with imagery and soundscape, the ''Surprise Bookshelfs'' that include edge-lit boxes each with a hint on its face about an example of American writing, and ''The Mind of a Writer Gallery'' with its giant rolls of paper suspended from the ceiling to an easel, providing the opportunity to create a story.

The museum also features two changing galleries that will showcase exhibits and artifacts on loan from our nation’s historic writers’ homes and diverse educational programing and special events that promote literacy.
