Posted  5 years ago  in  Loop List

1 MIN READ - On March 19, more than 250 job seekers from across the city of Chicago passed through the Palmer House Hilton during the fifth Hospitality Hires Chicago (HHC) event.

Candidates interviewed with 40 employers, many located in the downtown area, at this event presented by the Chicago Cook Workforce Partnership and partners Chicago Loop Alliance, Choose Chicago, the Illinois Hotel and Lodging Association, the Illinois Restaurant Association, the Magnificent Mile Association, and the Near South Planning Board.

HHC is a hiring event connecting jobs in the hospitality and retail industries to pre-screened job seekers across Chicagoland. Employers make on-the-spot conditional offers or invite candidates for second interviews on the day of the event.

During this iteration of HHC, more than 560 interviews were conducted, with an average of three interviews per candidate. There were 310 second interviews or conditional job offers extended.

“This is the fourth time Chicago Loop Alliance has partnered on this event, and we couldn’t be more pleased with all the great work of the Partnership,” said Michael Edwards Chicago Loop Alliance President and CEO. “Chicago Loop Alliance is committed to making the Loop everyone’s neighborhood, and one way we can accomplish that goal is by connecting job seekers from across the city to opportunities in our district. This event is an asset to the businesses we advocate for, and an asset to the people of Chicago who are looking for work.”
