This really is an interactive city-wide block party, at a time when we all need some joy and positive energy. You don’t want to miss out on making memories on State Street.”

“Whether you’ve gone to every Sundays on State event or haven’t made it down for one yet, make sure to mark the final date on your calendar,” said Chicago Mayor Lori E. Lightfoot. “My wife, Amy, and I had the pleasure of attending a couple weeks ago, and it is truly a sight to behold. After the past year and a half we’ve all endured, it was incredible to see residents from every corner of Chicago come together on this iconic street in the heart of our downtown. I encourage residents and visitors alike to come see for themselves before it’s too late.”

Attendees have provided overwhelmingly positive feedback. The data shows that they come from every neighborhood in Chicago and beyond and appreciate the vitality Sundays on State brings to the Loop.

“I love Sundays on State because our Loop neighborhood is like none other,” said Loop resident Nancy Thomas. “It is good to see people stop and enjoy themselves on State Street rather than always rushing. The event series has engaged nearly 400 vendors, performers and organizations to activate the street.

“I’ve been a Chicagoan for 27 years, and as a tour guide I spend a lot of time in the Loop,” said Kelly Kniewel of eATLAS. “I’ve never felt the Loop as ‘neighborhoody’ as it was at Sundays on State.
