CHICAGO<\/strong>\u2014Chicago Loop Alliance<\/a> is announcing dates for the return of the internationally acclaimed, award-winning event series, Los domingos en State<\/a>, which will close parts of State Street in the Loop to vehicle traffic on June 16 and July 14 this summer. Sundays on State is free and open to the public and will take place this year on State Street from Lake to Adams. Those who register to attend Sundays on State are automatically entered for a chance to win a $1,000 Loop staycation package. Applications for small businesses, local entrepreneurs, artists, and non-profits to participate in Sundays on State are open through April 15. Mainstage performers include Gio Chamba, Gerald McClendon, Trinity Irish Dancers, and The Joffrey Ballet. To apply for participation, visit LoopChicago.com\/Sundays<\/a>.<\/p>

\u201cSundays on State remains a marquee event of Chicago programming with immense economic impact, highlighting Chicago as a world-class city with a plethora of assets beyond a traditional central business district,\u201d said Michael Edwards, President and CEO of Chicago Loop Alliance<\/strong>. \u201cThis summer event series allows residents, businesses and visitors to unite in an unforgettable downtown experience in the heart of our great city. Last year\u2019s attendance achieved Lollapalooza-sized audiences, and we expect the popularity to grow even further this year.\u201d<\/p>

\u201cA longstanding and iconic addition to summers in Chicago, Sundays on State showcases the unique and resilient spirit of all Chicagoans as an award-winning event series second to none,\u201d said Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson<\/strong>. \u201cWith over 1 million attendees since its inception in 2021, Sundays on State provides our city\u2019s thriving community of small businesses, artists and entrepreneurs with unparalleled access to Chicago\u2019s most iconic street.\u201d<\/p>

The program will utilize State Street from Lake to Adams. Lake, Randolph, Washington, Madison, and Monroe will remain open east-west. Traffic street closures will last from 5 a.m.-midnight, and the event itself will take place from 11 a.m.-6 p.m. on both Sundays.<\/p>

Sundays on State is a project of Chicago Loop Alliance<\/a> in partnership with Chicago Loop Alliance Foundation and Special Service Area #1-2015. Supporting sponsors are Allstate Insurance Company, Macy\u2019s and Target. The event sponsor is Block 37. Community sponsors are Concorde New Media, Flyover, Millennium Garages, and StarEvents.
