{"id":5185,"date":"2019-06-11T19:27:42","date_gmt":"2019-06-11T19:27:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/loopchicagodev.wpenginepowered.com\/vendors-revealed-for-chicago-riverwalk-community-market\/"},"modified":"2026-05-26T21:29:11","modified_gmt":"2026-05-26T21:29:11","slug":"vendors-revealed-for-chicago-riverwalk-community-market","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/loopchicago.com\/es\/chicago-loop-blog\/vendors-revealed-for-chicago-riverwalk-community-market\/","title":{"rendered":"Vendors Revealed for Chicago Riverwalk Community Market"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"loop-intro wp-block-paragraph\">2 MIN READ &#8211; The <a href=\"https:\/\/loopchicago.com\/es\/listings\/chicago-riverwalk\/\">Chicago Riverwalk<\/a> officially opened on May 13, and improvements to its east end continue to progress, but fans of the pathway along the river have even more to look forward to starting in June: a community market.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"lc-post-paragraph wp-block-paragraph\">The market will feature nine women- and minority-owned business vendors, most of which hold six-month contracts for small kiosks located on what used to be a ramp between Wabash and Michigan avenues.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"lc-post-paragraph wp-block-paragraph\">Neighborly and Shop Small Chicago are retailers that will sell products from local artisans; Lincoln Park\u2019s Batter and Berries will offer soul food; Logan Square\u2019s Chiya Chai will sell chai tea, dumplings, and curry pies; Pilsen\u2019s Luxury Cakes will have desserts; catering company Twisted Eggroll will stock their eggrolls with a twist, stuffed with things like pizza or cheesesteak; and East Garfield Park\u2019s Justice of the Pies will sling sweet pies and quiches. Gordo\u2019s Homemade Ice Cream, which has locations in Edgewater and the South Loop, will sell ice cream via a mobile cart all along the Riverwalk.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large loop-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/loopchicago.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/City-Winery-Riverwalk-2016-Phil-Solomonson__FocusFillWzEsMSwieCIsMF0.jpg\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"lc-post-paragraph wp-block-paragraph\">In addition to those eight vendors with short-term contracts, Lakeview\u2019s Beat Kitchen has a three-year lease on a 1,300-square-foot space under the staircase of the Michigan Avenue bridge.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"lc-post-paragraph wp-block-paragraph\">The community market is meant to add vibrancy to the under-construction east end of the Riverwalk, extending the energy found near businesses like City Winery.
