DESCRIPTION:The Grant Park Music Festival is a 10-week classical music c
 oncert series held annually in Chicago\, Illinois’ Millennium Park. Fe
 aturing the Grant Park Orchestra and Chorus\, it is one of the only free
  outdoor classical-music concert series in the US.\n\nGiancarlo Guerrero
  conducts Dvořák’s New World Symphony\, a Czech composer’s interpr
 etation of the American folk songs and spirituals he had come to admire 
 while living in the United States. Two works by prominent American minim
 alist composers open the program—John Adams’s Short Ride in a Fast M
 achine and Philip Glass’s Violin Concerto No. 1\, featuring GRAMMY® A
 ward-winning violinist Anne Akiko Meyers.
