Top 3 Things to do this Weekend in the Loop

The Loop is full of activities for you to do this weekend! From workout classes, to dancing, to shopping, there's something for everyone to enjoy.

Millennium Park Summer Workouts

Jump start your weekend with a workout on Millennium Park’s Great Lawn. This Saturday, August 27, from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m., Millennium Park will offer several free 45-minute workout classes. Check out the schedule:

7 a.m. - Tai Chi, Led by East Bank Club

8 a.m. - Yoga, Led by Chicago Park District/Park Family Wellness

9 a.m. - Pilates, Led by East Bank Club

10 a.m. - Zumba, Led by Janice Lofton

There will also be music by DJ John Simmons during the Yoga and Pilates classes.

Chicago SummerDance

Swing, waltz or cha-cha your way through Grant Park this weekend during Chicago SummerDance. The music and dancing will begin at 7:30 p.m. tonight, August 26, and tomorrow, August 27, and at 5 p.m. on Sunday, August 28. If you cannot make it this weekend, Chicago SummerDance continues each weekend until Sunday, September 11. Dance lessons are offered before each event from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays and from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Sundays, so you can learn how to move your feet to the beat.

Summer is over and school is back in session, but that doesn’t mean all the fun has to stop. Take a shopping trip on State Street this weekend. With stores that sell items ranging from shoes, to clothes, to school supplies, you are sure to find exactly what you need.
