The SpongeBob Musical

Oriental Theatre | June 7, 2016 – July 10, 2016

Who lives in a Pineapple in the heart of the Loop? Spongebob Squarepants, and he is here to save Bikini Bottom from complete annihilation in the world premiere of “The Spongebob Musical.” Join Spongebob, Patrick, Sandy and all of their under-the-sea pals as they sing along to a score from some of the biggest names in pop and rock, including John Legend, Lady Gaga and Panic! At the Disco.

Goodman Theatre | June 28, 2016 – August 14, 2016

Tony Award-winners Patti LuPone and Christine Ebersole star as Helena Rubinstein and Elizabeth Arden in this world premiere musical about their rivalry that managed to transform the business of beauty.

The Book of Mormon

The PrivateBank Theatre | June 29, 2016 – August 14, 2016

“The Book of Mormon” is making its return to the Loop starting June 29. This satire follows two young missionaries as they travel to Africa with hopes of changing the world. This record-breaking, award-winning musical written by Trey Parker, Robert Lopez and Matt Stone is sure to have audiences laughing.

Disney’s Newsies

Cadillac Palace Theatre | July 28, 2016 – August 7, 2016

Seize the day with Disney’s “Newsies” beginning July 28. Follow Jack Kelly, a newsboy in NewYork during the late 1800s, and his fellow newsies as they come together to stand up to the most powerful men in New York. This Tony Award-winning musical for Best Score and Best Choreography is based on the Newsboy Strike of 1899.

Summer Concert at Millennium Park

Jay Pritzker Pavilion at Millennium Park | August 15, 2016

The annual Broadway In Chicago Summer Concert at Millennium Park will be Monday, August 15 at 6:15 p.m. This free event is sponsored by ABC 7 Chicago and hosted by entertainment reporter Janet Davies. This year’s concert lineup includes performances from Disney’s “Aladdin,” “Beautiful – The Carole King Musical,” Finding Neverland” and “The Phantom of the Opera.”

Kinky Boots

Oriental Theatre | August 30, 2016 – September 4, 2016

When Charlie Price is put in charge of his late father’s failing shoe factory, he needs to make some tough decisions in order to keep the factory open. With the help of Lola and “kinky boots,” along with tunes written by Cyndi Lauper, he may be able to save the family business. This Tony Award-winning musical will have audiences dancing in their seats by the time the curtain goes down.

Wonderful Town

Goodman Theatre | September 10, 2016 – October 16, 2016

“Wonderful Town” brings the music of Leonard Bernstein alive with song and dance. This Tony Award-winning musical is about two sisters, Ruth and Eileen, who move from Ohio to New York City. Join Ruth and Eileen as they pursue their dreams and try to find love in the Big Apple.
