The James Beard Awards Bring Special Menu Items to the Loop

It has been a busy past few weeks for the Chicago Loop! Just as the NFL Draft wraps up, the James Beard Awards roll into town. The country’s top culinary professionals will gather at Lyric Opera of Chicago on Monday for what has been called, “the Oscars of the food world.” Like the NFL Draft, this is the first time in several years that the ceremony has been held outside of New York City. What can we say; people can’t get enough of Chicago!

While tickets to the James Beard Awards are unlikely for the general foodie population, 80 of Chicago's top restaurants are participating in James Beard Eats Week with a special menu to honor James Beard. We put together a list Loop restaurants that are currently taking part, but you can see a full list of restaurants here. These special menus will only be available until May 8, so make your reservations now!
