Dean Lane Receives IHLA Award
Dean Lane, General Manager of Chicago’s Palmer House Hilton, was recently honored as a 2016 Ambassador of Hospitality by the Illinois Hotel & Lodging Association (IHLA). This was not Lane’s first recognition in the industry. He was honored with the 2015 Historic Hotelier of the Year Award by Historic Hotels of America and named Regional Hotelier of the Year in 2013 by IHLA.
“The Illinois Hotel and Lodging Association (IHLA) is very proud and pleased that our Board of Directors has chosen Dean Lane, General Manager of the Palmer House Hilton, as one of the recipients of our prestigious 2016 Ambassador of Hospitality Awards for his outstanding leadership of our Association and the hospitality industry in Illinois,” said Marc Gordon, President & CEO, IHLA.
Lane oversaw a $215 million renovation and restoration last year, while preserving the history of the Palmer House Hilton. He lead the technologic innovations of the implementation of the HCN Navigator Tablets in guest rooms, which allow guests access to hotel services like valet, housekeeping and room service, along with Internet, email access and more. He was also a lead with the launch of the Engage App for employees.
With Lane as General Manager, the Palmer House Hilton has received the highest group satisfaction scores within Hilton Hotels, and it is one of the highest-performing hotels with digital check-in.
