A New Partnership With The School of The Art Institute of Chicago
ACTIVATE is a showcase intended to put the city’s best and brightest on display to be observed and interacted with, creating a sense of blurred lines between the world of art and the everyday life that constitutes the pulse of the Loop.
An important aspect of the event is maintaining a relationship with the arts community in Chicago and providing a platform for its creative minds to flourish. The School of the Art Institute of Chicago is one of the oldest and most accredited schools of art in the country, and has been a breeding ground for some of America’s most accomplished creatives and visionaries. Its alumni includes titans of the artistic world like Georgia O’Keefe, Joan Mitchell and Grant Wood of “American Gothic” fame.
We are happy to announce their role as the presenting sponsor for our ACTIVATE series, a relationship that we know will be not only mutually beneficial but beneficial to the Loop at large. Named the most influential art school in the United States by Columbia University’s art critics, SAIC’s vibrant student body contributes significantly to the culture of Chicago. They are encouraged to explore and push boundaries, to innovate while still paying homage to the city’s rich artistic history. Come to the next ACTIVATE event and enjoy some house-made spirits and snacks from some of the most creative kitchens and bars in Chicago, and stick around to soak in live graffiti demonstrations, music, interactive performances by local artists and more!
